Frequently Asked Questions

  • Am I suitable for a FUE Hair Transplant?

For a hair transplant to be successful, enough hair must be available to be ‘donated’ from another part of the scalp or body. The hair at the back and sides of the scalp is usually thicker, stronger and more densely packed, and therefore makes ideal grafting material. The best candidates therefore retain some degree of hair growth at the back and sides of the scalp. However improvements can be made even with a limited donor area.  Our Private hospital will provide the best FUE results that will change your life.

  • What does the treatment involve?

Most FUE transplants can be completed in one day. In some cases, where lots of hairs are being transplanted, this can span to two days.

On the day of treatment, the patient arrives at the clinic in the morning and the donor area is usually shaved. This allows easier access to the roots and individual follicles.  Best hair transplant in Turkey

Local anaesthetic is then injected into the donor area to completely numb it. This ensures that the patient doesn’t feel any pain throughout the course of the treatment. Once the local anaesthetic has taken affect, a special punch, less than 1mm in diameter, is used to remove the hair follicles directly from the scalp, one by one. We can safely extract up to 7,000 hairs in one day, whereas with previous generations of FUE it was only possible to extract 2,500 hairs.

The treatment area is then numbed with local anaesthetic, and the hair that has been extracted will be replanted using miniscule instruments and meticulous attention to detail on the part of the doctor. Each hair is replanted in the same direction as the surrounding hair to ensure a totally natural result. When all the donor hairs have been transplanted the treatment is complete.

  • Does the procedure hurt?

The FUE hair transplant technique is not painful. Local anaesthetic is used to numb the area before treatment commences and therefore the patient doesn’t feel anything during the procedure other than a slight rubbing sensation. There will be some slight redness immediately following treatment but this will subside after a couple of days.  We use the latest hair technology facilities to make the procedure pain free.

  • How long does the procedure take?

The length of the hair surgery treatment depends on the number of hairs needed. Usually treatments take no more than a day to complete.

  • How soon will I see the results?

Patients will be able to see the outline of their new hairline immediately following surgery and the hair will start to grow as normal right away. It is perfectly normal for the transplanted hair to shed again a few weeks after treatment, but after that initial shedding it will grow back strong and healthy and will remain permanently. Results will start to be seen about four – six weeks after treatment with full results being seen after approximately 6 to 12 months.

  • How long will the results last?

Results with our FUE treatments in istanbul are permanent, and will provide you a guranteed certificate when you leave the clinic.

  • Are there any complications associated with the procedure?

As the placement incisions are so small, the risk of post-operative infection is very low. You will likely experience some redness and maybe some slight swelling in the treatment area immediately after treatment, but this will subside after two to four days.

  • How do I begin planning my hair transplant?

You have to contact the hair clinic and provide them with photographs of your hair as it is today. Then, you will get an approximate number of grafts that can be transplanted and the price of hair transplantation. This is not binding, and a more through examination will be done right before the procedure by the doctor. Once you have the estimate, you need to buy a plane ticket to Turkey and notify the clinic of your arrival date. We will arrange everything else for you.
